OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy places emphasis on the structural integrity of
the whole body. Treatment can bring relief to musculo-skeletal
injuries such as sprains, strains, slipped discs, arthritis,
lumbago, sciatica, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder and neuritis
amongst other conditions that can respond successfully.
COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
A wide variety of different therapies are sometimes called
alternative therapies, because they provide another way of
treating illness; sometimes called complementary, because
they complement the person - i.e.; fit in with what a person
needs - and may be used alongside and to complement conventional
medicine.
They may also be described as holistic, in that many of
them look at the person as a whole - whole body, mind and
spirit.
They are natural in the sense that therapists use only their
own hands or materials occurring in nature.
The treatments tend to be gentle in their action and very
safe to use, but also specific in their effects which are
often surprising.
Do they work? Getting good objective scientific evidence
from large trials is very difficult.
Most people try and find it out for themselves. However the
proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say. There
are enough people well satisfied with the results to keep
many practitioners employed. If you are in doubt of where
to start - please ask our reception team. |
